About EPICONN

Our Mission

30M+ people worldwide live with focal epilepsy
1 in 3 continue to have seizures despite antiseizure medication
0 network-based biomarkers exist to guide treatment early

New evidence suggests that focal epilepsy is not a disorder confined to a single brain region, but one of distributed, disrupted networks. EPICONN brings together neurology, neuroimaging, neurosurgery, genetics, transcriptomics and machine learning to map the complex architecture of neural systems in people living with both drug-responsive and drug-resistant epilepsy. By fusing multimodal data with AI-driven analysis, we translate that understanding into predictive models and network-based therapies that empower clinicians to deliver truly individualized care.

Our Approach

From Brain Data to Personalized Treatment
Three connected stages turn raw multimodal brain data into decisions clinicians can act on.
→ Brain Data
Neuroimaging, electrophysiology, clinical, genetic and transcriptomic data, gathered across the study cohort.
→ Network Understanding
Multimodal fusion and AI-driven modelling to reveal how epileptogenic and cognitive networks are organized and disrupted.
→ Personalized Treatment
Connectome-based biomarkers to guide surgery, drug therapy and neurostimulation — tailored to the individual patient.
